What we use

Smoothing treatments are the most oversold thing in this industry. Here is the straight version, including the parts that cost us the sale.

Ask us which product is going on your hair and we will show you the safety sheet rather than the label. That offer stands for every treatment on this page.

Start Here

Three taps. An honest answer.

Most salons will sell you whatever you ask for. Tell us about your hair and we will tell you what we would actually do, including the times the answer is to do nothing.

What is your hair like naturally?

What actually bothers you?

What has been done to it?

Answer all three and we will tell you what we would actually recommend, including when the answer is nothing.

In Detail

Every treatment, straight.

Hair Botox

from₹4,500
Lasts
6 to 12 weeks
In the chair
60 to 90 minutes

What it really is

There is no botulinum toxin in it and no injection. The name is marketing. It is a deep conditioning treatment of proteins, amino acids and oils that fills gaps in a damaged hair shaft and coats the outside. It smooths, softens and adds shine. It does not change the structure of your hair, and it washes out.

Works well for

Dry, frizzy, dull or heat-damaged hair that needs smoothing and shine without any structural change.

Not right for

Anyone expecting permanent straightening. Very fine hair, which can be left limp or flat. Tightly curled hair, which responds far less than the marketing suggests. Anyone with an irritated scalp or a known ingredient allergy.

Aftercare

Leave it 48 to 72 hours before the first wash. Sulphate-free shampoo after that, cooler water, and a heat protectant whenever you style.

Longevity varies a lot. Hard water, frequent washing, sulphate shampoo and heat styling all shorten it. If someone promises you six months, be sceptical.

Keratin Smoothing

from₹6,000
Lasts
10 to 12 weeks
In the chair
2 to 3 hours

What it really is

A smoothing solution sealed into the hair with a very hot iron. Unlike hair botox, this one does change how the hair behaves. It reduces frizz and cuts drying time considerably. It relaxes curl rather than removing it, and it is not the same as permanent chemical straightening.

Works well for

Frizzy or wavy hair where the goal is manageability rather than a completely different head of hair.

Not right for

Tight curl patterns expecting poker-straight results. Severely damaged or over-processed hair. Anyone unwilling to switch to sulphate-free shampoo. We do not recommend it during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Aftercare

Do not wash it for the first 48 to 72 hours, and keep it out of tight ties or clips in that window. Sulphate-free and salt-free shampoo from then on.

Many keratin formulas worldwide release formaldehyde when heated, and independent testing has repeatedly found it even in products labelled formaldehyde-free. Ask us which product we use and we will show you the safety sheet, not the label.

Olaplex Bond Repair

from₹2,500
Lasts
Cumulative
In the chair
About 1 hour

What it really is

Bleach, strong colour and heat break bonds inside the hair. Olaplex uses a single active ingredient that re-links those broken bonds, which measurably reduces breakage during and after a chemical service. It is a repair and protection treatment, not a smoothing one.

Works well for

Hair that has been bleached, highlighted or over-coloured, and as an add-on during any lightening service.

Not right for

Anyone expecting a visible change on its own. It repairs, it does not restyle, and it will not seal split ends permanently.

Aftercare

Best kept up with the take-home range between salon visits. Effects build with consistent use.

The bond chemistry is real. Some of the marketing around it runs ahead of the independent evidence, so we will tell you when it is genuinely worth adding and when it is not.

Scalp Treatment

from₹2,300
Lasts
Best as a course
In the chair
About 45 minutes

What it really is

Exfoliation, clarifying and massage to clear product buildup and rebalance the scalp. It helps with flaking caused by buildup, oiliness and general discomfort. It is cosmetic care, not medical treatment.

Works well for

Itchy or oily scalps, buildup from styling products, and hair that feels weighed down at the root.

Not right for

Medical hair loss, patchy shedding, persistent itching, sores, or scaling that will not clear. Those need a dermatologist, and we will say so rather than sell you a treatment.

Aftercare

Usually works best as a short course rather than a one-off. We will tell you honestly if one session is enough.

No salon scalp treatment regrows hair lost to a medical cause. Anyone telling you otherwise is selling something.

We would rather lose the booking than the customer. Our rule, not a slogan

The 48-hour patch test is not optional.

Any colour service needs a skin patch test at least 48 hours beforehand. It takes two minutes, and it checks for an allergic reaction to the dye rather than for the colour result. It matters even if you have coloured your hair for years without a problem, because sensitivity can develop at any time. Separately, we may do a strand test on a hidden section to see how your hair will actually take the colour. They are different tests and we do both when it is warranted.

We would rather lose the booking than the customer.

If a treatment is wrong for your hair, we will tell you before you sit down and we will lose the sale. Every smoothing treatment gets a strand test first, and we will give you a realistic range for your hair rather than the best case. Results depend on your hair, your water and how you wash it, and nobody honest promises otherwise.
