A surf school and surf house on the Bay of Bengal. Seven mornings a week, on a sandy-bottom break that forgives beginners.
Board flat, chest up, hands under your ribs. Push, swing your feet through, land sideways, knees bent, eyes up the beach. You'll do it until it's boring. That's the point.
The part nobody photographs. Arms burning, chin down, water in your face. It's also the part that decides whether you catch anything at all.
Hands under the chest, one motion, feet land. Bosco calls it from the water behind you. You'll miss it. Then you'll miss it again. Then you won't.
Everyone describes it the same way. The noise drops out, and there's just the board moving under you and the beach coming closer.
Standing comes fast. Choosing your own wave and riding it on purpose — that's what the course is for.
Placeholder imageYes. Lessons happen in waist-to-chest-deep water over sand, and Bosco stays in the water beside you. Being a strong swimmer is not required.
Swimwear. Board, leash and rash guard are ours. Bring sunscreen and something dry for afterwards.
The sea is friendliest from October to November and March to May. Lessons run year-round, mornings before the wind picks up.
